Create Account
Signing up is easy. From the Signup page:
- Enter your email address for your membership in the Email Address field.
- Enter your membership password twice, once in the Password field and once in the Confirm Password field. Note that your password needs to be at least 6 characters long (using number and letters only).
- Select the time zone you would like to use when logged in from the Timezone drop-down list.
- Under Security enter the numbers you see in the image into the field next to the image. These numbers are designed to limit spam – if the numbers are not legible please click on the Refresh link.
- Read and agree to the Terms of Service.
Personal Information
On the personal information page, tell us a little about yourself. Your first and last name are required and will be used to identify you on this network. You can edit other details of your personal information later if you wish.
Upload a Photo
Next, Upload a photo of yourself. You can choose to upload a photo now, or skip this step and do it later.
Invite Friends to Join
Next, take the opportunity to invite your friends to join MyVOV. You can choose to invite your friends now, or skip this step and do it later.
Signup Complete
Next, complete signup by hitting the "Return to Home" button. You will need to verify your email address before you can login.
Check your email for two emails from MyVOV. Click on the verify my email address link, which will bring you back to MyVOV and verify your account.
I can't login, or I forgot my username or password.
Before you can login, please make sure that you have verified your account. Check your email for a message from MyVOV Administrator. Click on the verify my email address link, which will bring you back to MyVOV and verify your account.
If you still can't login, check to make sure that your "caps lock" key is off. Your username and password are CaSe SeNsItIvE. If you still cannot login, you can request to
reset your password or
contact us.
How can I delete my account?
If you are aboslutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can do so by sending a request using the contact us page.
How to add photos
You can upload photos in the form of photo albums. Photo albums are a way of displaying your images to the community. You can create and organize images in any way you want – you are limited to 10 mb. of disk space.
You can add a photo in two ways;
- From your profile wall, click on Add Photo. You will be prompted to create a new album to which you will add your photo to, add the photo to one of your existing photo albums.
- Or add photos by clicking on My Apps, Photos.
Uploading photos
To upload photos to a photo album; from your profile page:
- Click on the My Apps > Photos from the menu.
- Click on the Edit Album link for the required album.
- Click on the Add New Photos link.
- Click on the Browse... button and navigate to and select the photo that you want to upload. The maximum image size you can upload is 2MB. Note: You can upload the following file types: jpg, gif, jpeg, png, pdf, swf.
- Repeat for as many photos that you want to upload.
- Click on the Upload Selected Files button. When the files have uploaded the photos have been added to the album.
- You can continue uploaded photos up to your maximum space limit. After you have finished uploading photos you may want to add title and caption information to photos, move their position in the album, rotate the photos, or delete photos that you uploaded accidentally.
Editing photos
You can add title and caption information to photos, move their position in the
album, rotate the photos, or delete photos that you uploaded accidentally. You can
also edit the description and settings for the album itself.
To edit photos:
- Click on the My Apps > Photos option in the user menu.
- Click on the Edit Album link next to the required album.
- Edit the photos using the available options:
- Title – Enter the title of the photo. This appears above the photo when
viewing the album. - Caption – Enter the description of the photo. This appears below the
photo when viewing the album. - Delete Photo – Select to remove the photo from the album.
- Album Cover – Select to indicate that this photo is an album cover.
- Rotate Left – Click to rotate the photo 90 degrees anti-clockwise.
- Rotate Right - Click to rotate the photo 90 degrees clockwise.
- Move Up – Click to swap the photo’s position with the photo above it.
- Click on the Save Changes button to apply your changes to the album.
How to Create Photo Album
To create a photo album. From your profile page:
- From Your Profile Page click on the menu My Apps > Photos
- Click on the Create New Album menu option.
- Enter the name of the photo album in the Album Name field.
- Enter the description of the photo album in the Album Description field.
- Modify the settings for the photo album
- Click on the Create Album button. This creates the photo album and prompts you to add start adding photos.
How to Edit Photo Album
To edit the album information or settings:
- Click on the My Apps > Photos option in the user menu.
- Click on the Edit Album link next to the required album.
- Click on the Edit Album Info link.
- Modify the settings for the photo album
- Click on the Save Changes button.
Adding a tag to a photo
A tag allows viewers to add text to a particular area of a photo. This text will appear
when viewers move their mouse over the indicated area of the photo or over the tag.
This is way of visually displaying comments on photos.
To add a tag to a photo:
- Display the photo that you want to add a tag to. If the Add Tag link is
displayed you are able to add a tag. - Click on the Add Tag link.
- Position the dotted square where you want it on the picture. You can resize
the square by dragging the corners. - Enter the tag description in the field or select a name from the available list.
- Click on the Save button. The tag has been added to the photo and will
display when a viewer’s mouse moves over area of the photo that was
indicated by the dotted square or over the tag.
Remove a Tag from a Photo
To remove a tag from a photo:
Note that only the community member who uploaded a photo can remove a tag from
a photo.
- Display the photo that you want to remove a tag from.
- Click on the remove tag link next to the required tag. The tag has now been
removed.
